Calvin WL Ho (JSD, Cornell University) is Associate Professor with the Department of Law, and Co-Director of the Centre for Medical Ethics and Law, at the University of Hong Kong. His research relates primarily to the governance of emergent health technologies (with focus on AI and digital health), and global health. In this connection, his research has been published in top tier journals, and he is a co-editor of Bioethics in Singapore (World Scientific, 2010) and Genetic Privacy (Imperial College Press, 2013), the author of Juridification in Bioethics (Imperial College Press, 2016), and an author of WHO Guidelines on Ethical Issues in Public Health Surveillance (World Health Organization 2017). Calvin is an Ethics Board member of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), and a member of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator Ethics Working Group of the World Health Organization (WHO). Prior to joining HKU, he taught at the National University of Singapore, and was Co-Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Bioethics in Singapore.

Professor Eric C. IP
Eric is a public health bioethicist and Co-Director of the Centre for Medical Ethics and Law at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), where he is Professor of Law. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Socio-Legal Studies from the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, and a Master of Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney, among other academic degrees. He has been awarded the Outstanding Young Researcher Award, University Research Output Prize, and Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award by HKU, and the Research Excellence Award and Young Researcher Award by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he served as Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Director of the LLB Programme.
Professor Trevor T. W. WAN
Trevor is an Assistant Professor at HKU Law, where his scholarship interrogates the social foundations of legal medicine. His research employs an interdisciplinary framework, integrating comparative law, political science, and socio-legal methodologies to develop innovative paradigms for analysing coroner’s inquests and the constitutional dimensions of mental health and happiness. Trevor’s work has been published or is forthcoming in leading peer-reviewed journals across law and medicine, including the American Journal of Comparative Law, International Journal of Constitutional Law, German Law Journal, Hong Kong Medical Journal, and the BMJ Journal of Medical Ethics Blog.
